How To Set Up An Auto Clicker

how to set up an auto clicker

Auto Clicker is a training device that automatically click when the trigger is pulled by the dog. This helps dogs learn to be responsive to their owners and get used to being treated as part of a pack. Auto Clickers are not overly aggressive, unlike the traditional clicker training methods that were used in the past. They are a gentle, easy to use tool that can help you train your dog quickly and efficiently. In this article I will discuss how to set up an auto clicker for your dog.

First you must set up the auto clicker to recognize your pet's name. To do this you should place a treats bag on the clicker and then put the leash through the loop on the leash. The leash should be attached to the bag with an off leash command. Once you have the leash in place to attach your pet's name to the leash with a verbal or physical cue such as, "Stay" or "Atten-hut".

Second you should teach your dog to always sit before pulling on the leash. For this you should pull the leash tight in order to produce the requisite reaction from the dog and then release the pull as the dog sits. For instance, if you pull the leash tight and the dog sits, releasing the pull the dog will sit. It should take no more than a second for the dog to sit. If the dog sits and continues to sit after you have released the pull, praise the dog and give it a treat. After some repetitions you should be able to teach the dog to sit without the need for you to pull on the leash.

Next you should find a good quality clicker that you are comfortable with your dog using. I recommend that you go to a store and try out several different types of clickers. There are a number of clicker machines on the market today. Some of these machines have whistles attached to them, which are a great addition if you want to train a puppy not to pull on the leash. When the whistle blows, the puppy should sit.

You can also use a clicker that has a flashing light. The dog should sit when the flash goes off. When the light flashes, the dog should sit. Again, some of these dogs require that you pull on the leash a little bit in order to get the dog to sit and some will require that you tug on the leash in order to get them to stand still.

The next thing on how to set up an auto clicker is to find a good treat bag. The treat bag should be large enough to hold at least one or two treats. To begin, when you bring your puppy home, place the treat bag on the floor near your puppy. Take the puppy's leash and lead him to the treat bag. The dog should ignore the treat and walk by the bag.

This process can continue until the dog is curious about the clicker. After he shows interest in the treats, place another treat bag on the floor in front of the first one. The dog should wander over to the second treat bag and wait for the clicker to go off. Once the sound of the clicker is heard, the dog should sit down next to the first treat bag. Repeat this process until the dog is willing to sit on command.

Finally, you can try to teach your puppy to come when called. Start this process by teaching your puppy to lie down next to you while you are standing in front of the treat. Once your puppy learns to lie down next to you while you are holding treats, how to set up an auto clicker will be a simple process.
